April 2, 2010 at 6:40 pmHey Chris- can you help me transfer clips from my HPX 170 to FCP6? When I tell it to “Capture Now” I can hear the Mac running, but a black window pops up and says it’s waiting for timecode. Ugh…

April 2, 2010 at 6:46 pmYou don’t use LOG and CAPTURE…that’s for tape. P2 is tapeless, and requires a different workflow.

You need to push “Play” on your camera first and then push the “Capture Now” button. It will then be able to find timecode, and you let it capture as long as you want it to. You then push “esc” when you reach the end of what you want to capture. Make sure you turn it off before you reach the end of the tape, because it will continue to capture until you push “esc.” Hope that helps.
