Best format for keying and Flash web delivery
I’m looking for advice for the best P2 format/settings for the following project:
Final clips are for flash/web delivery of several talking heads (waist up) composited in front of a white 255 background. Easy, except they want a light shadow behind the person.
So, do I key the people over the white 255 after shooting in DVCPro50 or HD at 720P and add the shadow in AE? Or, do I shoot on white seamless and create the shadow in the field? Is HD overkill for clips that will end up being 465 x235? This will need to be a easily repeatable set up.

I’d go for a white seamless- much much easier than trying to get a perfect key anyway. Go ahead and shoot 720p. There’s nothing wrong with having too much starting resolution when it comes time to downsize for web video.

Thanks Noah….it makes even more sense to do that since this isn’t a high budget project.
