    Good Morning

I am sorry to bother you with this question, I know it has been answered in the many posts I have looked at, but those posts did not give me an answer that I could understand. I shot a video in HD (Canon HV30) and I want that to have the best picture for the projecter TV at our Church which is a big screen (Square) but the projection system does upconvert to HD also. I have noticed that other videos sometimes have a letterbox look on this system and some don’t which is fine because it does show in HD and the people are not long and thin(Streched)
Is a AVI file the best to use for this 2 minute HD video, or are there better options, and will the finished product be streched, or letterbox which is what we perfer over the people looking like they are streched long and thin.

    Thank you for your time
    Regards
    Rick

I just render to DVD for our church projector. If the projector isn’t HD then that’s probably the best approach.

Thank you very much John. I thought about that, but the man that runs the system said his system doesn;t like DVD’s and he perfers .avi which confused me because of what I have read in these forums. He had a hard time with a MT2 file, but finally found the plug in for what program he uses to send to the projector and it looked pretty good. However, the video though, looked like it streched it out a little to fill the square screen. The screen is 9ft by 9ft and most video’s shown have been very clear and don’t have that “streched” look. I am sure they are showing at 720 due to the clearity.
I am trying to get away from that streched look and being new, I am not sure how to overcome that.

    Thank you again.
