Best export settings for Avid Media Composer 6?
Hi,
What would be the best export setting for me to get the highest quality .mov? I can’t use “same as source” since it will be too big for a DVD. I used to use Apple Pro Res, but that does not seem to be an option here. The image below shows my options. Thanks!

Don’t use the QT encoder. If you set Custom QT export options in Media Composer, you will be using it. Export Same-As-Source or QT Ref and use Sorensen Squeeze to create something that fits your delivery format.

Ok thanks! I checked out Sorenson Squeeze and can’t afford it. Should I get Compressor 4? I could export same as source and then use that, right?

If you own MC6 or SY6, you own a Sorensen Squeeze license.

Newbie here….
but it’s my understanding that you can’t send a QT reference to Sorenson if you’re using AMA. What is the best option for exporting to youtube if you’re using AMA?
