    Hi yeah…it’s me again!
I’ve read the posts but didn’t find a conclusive answer to my situation so…
Working in NTSC broadcast, I’ve built a map in Photoshop CS3. Placed it into Motion and made a simple animation. My project properties are set for NTSC DV (720×480), Bit Depth 16 (Float) the dither box checked, Pixel Aspect Ratio- NTSC D1/DV. Ok, when I Export out to a Quicktime file what are the best settings for this to go to my editor. I mean, what are the best options for this be placed into, let’s say Final Cut Pro, so that my animation doesn’t look crappy once on the air. Thanks again….aaron.

Is your editor working in the DV format or uncompressed D1? If it’s DV, just render in DV. If it’s uncompressed D1 (720×486) then you need re-set your project to that frame size. Then you render the exact same codec as your editor is using in FCP. If they are working in Uncompressed 4:2:2 then that’s what you render in. If they are working in DV, render in DV.

A DV codec graphic will degrade on the air because of the 5:1 compression of that codec. There’s no getting around that. If your station is running Uncompressed, then you need to stop working in the DV frame size / codec and work in uncompressed.
