How long is the project? how is the audio treated? The length of the project and how the audio was treated will determine the best quality you can get with a particular size disk single or double layer, As far a brands go I like to use “Taiyo Yuden” -r printables.

Dual-layer DVDs are longer, but can only be played on dual-layer players.
Disk manufacturer or type of disk has nothing to do with image quality. That is the result of high-quality variable-bitrate MPEG-2 compression from an uncompressed or lossless source, assuming your source looks good going in.
Disk manufacturer only affects the likelihood of the disk’s playing at all, in my experience.

    I use Verbatim.

[Steve Roberts] “but can only be played on dual-layer players”
Curious? Settop players that do dual layer have been around for some time, a lot longer than dual layer burners and media.
Discussion is moot as we don’t know the length of the project.

Sorry — I should have written “don’t assume that a dual-layer disc will play on as many players as a single-layer disc would”.

    But point taken. 🙂
