  • Best converter of flv to mp4 for website clips?

Greetings. Over the years I’ve made a number of flv movie clip files, most recently in Premiere Pro CS5. I’ve finally caught on that I need to make my Dreamweaver website iOS viewable, and so need to convert them. I can’t google up the norms, so what format would people suggest? mp4, through Adobe Media Encoder? Thanks for your help.

Personally I prefer Sorenson for FLV’s. You get the option of using their “spark” codec as well and they have a lot of great presets. You do have to pay a good coin for the app, but you can also just buy the flv plug-in if that’s all you need.

Thanks. Good coin is right, though.
I’d be interested in comparisons of Squeeze and Adobe Media Encoder

FYI: if you have FLVs encoded via the “F4V” codec, just change the file extension to m4v, or mp4. (vice-versa works too). f4v files are mp4 files, as far as I can tell. FLVs in other codecs do need to be re-encoded.
