May 7, 2006 at 6:48 amTo output stuff to the web those two are pretty good, as well as XVID, though I’ve found that if I send files encoded with those to most people, they often need to go download the codecs.
Quicktime Sorenson 3 is usually a good way to go because most people seem to have QT installed.

May 8, 2006 at 12:55 pmI like HuffyUV. Its a lossless AVI format. Its free. You can render to any size and aspect ratios at 1/3 size of uncompressed and it can contain an alpha channel (but not from PI I think). Its available at https://neuron2.net/www.math.berkeley.edu/benrg/huffyuv.html. There are others like photo JPG and the like depending on what your final destination is to be.

May 9, 2006 at 1:27 pmIf you;re using your pIllusion footage in another program, you should make sure not to render compressed until you’re final output. Otherwise there’s a generational loss of quality (Compressed to compressed to compressed = poor quality video).
