I’m going from FCP to AVID for coloring. ( my colorist only uses avid) I exported out using the avid DNxHD codec and the blacks came out milky. Not ideal for coloring since we lost info.

What is my best solution? going uncompressed? how much space will that take on 2 hours and 33 min of footage?

    Thank you

What is the source material? HDV or DSLR footage or HDCAM or?

Thanks for replying. We shot on HDCAM with Sony F-900 cameras. We transferred from HDCAM to AJa ki pro mini in pro res 422.

I think sending a pro res 422 file to my colorist who uses avid express pro will work or so he says.
The avid codecs were certainly giving me a milky look.

    thanks

    ProRes should work great…
