    Hi there

I’m having a lot of issues working on my new 4K (UHD) footage. I have two kind of. First there are XAVC S-Files out of a Sony A6300 and there are files out of the DJI Mavic Drone (Dji AVC encoder, 3840 × 2160).

The XAVC S-Files I can import into premiere (native files in .mp4 container) and work with them, it is rather slow but ok. Then I try to export it to Da Vinci Resolve. I export a xml, da vinci recognize the xml, but can’t find the files. I think thats because of the codec of the files. So I tried to convert them to ProRes with either Mpeg Streamclip or Adobe Media Encoder, but all the Pro Res Files in 4k can’t be played after exporting in Finder and in Premiere. So thats problem nr. 1.

Problem Nr. 2 is the drone footage I can’t even import into premiere. Ah yes I can import but I can’t play it. When I convert them into Pro Res I have the same issue as with the other files. I can’t play them.

So whats the best codec for this workflow? Shall I try DNxHD or something else?

Ah yes I’m on a Mac. OS X Yosemite 10.10.2.

Can someone help? I would appreciate any kind of ideas or experience with that.
    Thanks in advance
    Sabrina
