Best CF/SD Card Reader for Mac?
Hello everyone!
Been reading this forum for a while though I may not quite be in the same creative field. I thought I’d join up finally. I’m a fashion photographer and retoucher. I’m currently in need of a good CF and SD card reader for my mac pro, ideally using FW800 as I do not have USB3. I haven’t seen many good card readers around, the ones I have seen are no longer made it seems. The ones that I find nowadays are poorly built, light, flimsy things. Ideally i’d like something heavy weight that doesn’t move around too much on my desk but most importantly I’m really paranoid about data corruption so it needs to be reliable and good quality when it comes to transfering my RAW files. Any recommendations?Thanks!

Sorry to be a bit late…
I think the very best FW800 CF card reader available today is the Delock Item No. 91694. Its CF only, though. It’s also quite tiny, not much mass here. On the good side, it is a FW device, which have become very hard to find since Oxford stopped making FW chips.

A bit pricy, but I’m happy with it. I bought twice from this vendor, and both times shipping was quite fast.
I work in television program production, use these every day, and have had no problem with them, at all.
