    Hi,

We recently bought 3 BM Decklink SP to use w/ Vegas 7.0. It’s working perfectly to ptt and view on a component monitor but we’re expecting problems to capture via betacam component w/ a batch list (generated from other software). We need to digitalize compressed files because uncompressed files (like Vegas do) generate heavy files that takes too much space on HD. I

    Hi Paulo,

We’ve never advertized support for Vegas 7. The Vegas documentation states that they had tested some of our cards for SDI capture and playback with Vegas 7 as well as analog monitoring. However they did not verify that analog capture would work and indeed there are definitely problems with analog capture and Vegas 7. We’d really like all our products to work perfectly with Vegas 7 and we’ll continue to pursue that goal but in the meanwhile we’re not advertizing support for Vegas 7 until we can be sure that everything works well together.

Premiere Pro can be used to batch capture files which you can then take to Vegas 7. I would suggest capturing to an 8-bit uncompressed AVI format for ease of use when moving the files to Vegas 7.

Thanks Luke. We’ll try w/ Premiere PRO. And I encourage you to continue working/ Vegas team to accept BM cards. It’s a very interesting combo.
