  • Best C4D settings to simulate the Shiny/Glassy/Metallic “Zax” look?

Posted by Larry Delceg on December 28, 2009 at 4:10 am

I’m an intermediate AE user and am considering purchasing C4d. I’ve downloaded the demo and have been spending a lot of time learning and exploring the capabilities.
So my question is: What C4D settings are best for simulating those beautiful shiny, glassy, metallic surfaces often seen on text created by Zaxwerks Invig or ProAnimator?
    Thanks for the advice!

Well, there are “zillions” of settings and possibilities to achieve what your’e looking for…
One key to shiny metallic surfaces… The object needs something to reflect …
    Either create your own Reflection-Scene…
Or load an image or shader into the Materials Environment Channel…

If you like, here are some examples for experimentation:

Thanks for taking the time to supply the example file! I’ll examine it carefully to learn the technique.

    Much Appreciation,
