Best Books/Videos for Theory
Hello,
I’m looking for recommendations for editing theory references. I’m looking to deepen my knowledge of the art/craft. I’m versed in Walter Murch’s book, as well as the ideas behind Russian montage and some French New Wave stuff. Looking for anything thoughtful, classical or contemporary. It could be “Editing for Dummies” if it has good ideas in it. Thank you!

I think I got most from a very old but I think outstanding book, The Technique of Film Editing by Reisz and Millar. This takes a ground-up, conceptual approach, and takes us from the very beginnings through to modern technique.
