January 26, 2007 at 1:27 amThe PVW 2800 has better frequency response than the UVW 1800 as well as a jog knob and insert and assemble controls on the deck. For graphics, that little extra bandwidth can help preserve details. But as Bob pointed out, all these decks are discontinued. The best deck for you might be the one you can get the best deal on.

I’ve been using a second hand Sony 1800 for the last year with my blackmagic card, all the graphics and animations has been crisp and clear. Though I would suggest keeping the output settings at least to Blackmagic 8MB minimum for high quality.
