my client wants their final delivery of a 1 minute spot in an avi file. so far, this what i’ve done: save the timeline as a self-contained QT, go to iMovie and import that file. then share/QT/expert/movie-to-avi. it worked fine, but the default setting was pretty choppy. so i changed the video compressor type to DV/DCPro NTSC, and cranked quality up to best. this looks great! it’s about 10 times bigger than the default file. just wondering if any of you have any other tips for maybe a smaller AND better file, or if this is probably the one? thanks…

exporting directly to AVI only works with NTSC, it does not work in PAL (video stream is corrupted with duplicate frames)
i see that you are working with NTSC … just posting this for reference

hey, but thanks for the info. it is always good to know. also fyi on the avi’s…i did the hi-res one like i outlined above, sent it to client through cyberspace via “yousendit” (file was 223MB), they got it this morning and played it tonight at their conference. it looked great, they all loved it. life is good.
