  • Best audio “speed” for Canon D5 mark II HD

    Hi,

We’re going to shoot a short film this weekend with the Canon Mark II camera. It’s a 30FPS progressive camera, for all I could find and we cannot choose 24, 23.98, 25 or 29.97 speeds.

We’re recording the sound separately and we need to know how to best capture the sound for the post-producting sync. Should we record 30NDF?

    Information greatly appreciated.

    Greetings Leo,

What recorder are you recording the audio on to? Are you using timecode? If you’re not jamming timecode, the frame rate doesn’t matter (for audio). However, you want your audio recorder to be set at 48kHz and 16 or 24bit.

    Regards,
