  • Best 24p Cameras under $10,000?

Posted by Ryan Atkins on June 25, 2008 at 2:04 am

I didn’t really see a good category for this post.

Question, I own the HDR-FX1 which has a 24p simulated film mode, and I really like it, however, is this a good camera for the film look? Also, what are some cameras that actually record in true 24p that are under $10,000. I’m just comparing and researching.

    Thanks

Panasonic pretty much invented 24p and from what I have gathered the Canon does something so similar to 24p (24f) I can’t tell what the difference is yet and I hear it’s pretty good.

Sony seems to be the odd man out on this although I must confess, I never once used the 24p on my Panasonic. I bought it because I loved how the 60i footage looked. I figure if I hit it with a nice indie film I’ll let the studio do a professional 24p conversion. .

JVC HD200 or HD250. Real 24p, 30p and 60p. looks great, good form factor, nice lens options (13x).
