benefits of going for NVIDIA 7800 instead of 6800 series(4 AE 7)? (+best system)
Seems I need to buy a new system since my pc just died, or so I believe, But nonetheless it’s 3 years old now and I think going for the faster stuff is needed now for me (principally deadline wise).
So since there’s a major difference in price, I’d like to know if it’s really worth going for the 7800 series of the NVIDIA graphic card instead of the 6800. Basically, what will I gain for paying that extra. I intend to upgrade to AE 7.
Plus on the subject of dual processing, what are the exact benefits, and for that matter, any specific motherboard I should aim for?
***Also consider that I’d like to switch to PP2 too, and might be leading to eventually deal with HD material.
If there’s any other combination for a system that would simply make it the best for a good while, since I’m not a new gadget guy and do not like to change components every 2 months or so, what be the IDEAL system overall that will be able to nicely perform for at the very least 2 years?
I’d like to spend around 2000-2300$ canadian dollars at worst. I already got my hard disks (IDE btw) and do not need a new monitor.
Thanks for your help!
Pat
