I have an interlaced video source on Digital Betacam.

I’m encoding it for use on a SD DVD.

Is there a benefit to encoding it as a progressive file? Why or why wouldn’t I want to do this?

Thank you, but is there any reason NOT to encode interlaced material as progressive for use on a SD DVD?
