    Ben,

I suspect you’re the only person in the world who knows the answer to this problem . . .

As noted elsewhere, Tiger10.4.1/Squeeze 4.1/QT 7.01 results in very contrasty, unacceptable results in Mpeg 1 and H.264 encodes.

    1. Is there a fix?

    2. Do you suppose the fix is far off?

I’d ask Sorenson but thus far they’ve been incredibly lame. Unknowledgable tech support.

    Thanks for any info.

David, I’d suggest taking a look a Popwire Compression Master 3.1 for the above formats. CM’s AVC output is really amazing (about 15% better than Squeeze IMO), and their MPEG-1 encoding has improved quite a bit as well (now about 30% better than Squeeze). If there is a bug with Squeeze and Tiger, I wouldn’t hold my breadth for a fix. Popwire on the otherhand has excellent support and will work with you one-on-one to make sure there is fix relatively soon if you discover a bug. And CM 3.1 does take advantage of some of the underlying features Tiger brings, so there is less of chance of Tiger specific bugs being discovered.
