I apologize if this is the wrong room to post this but it did start with final cut pro.

I have the Bella Pro Series 3 for my Mac OSX 10.4.9 and use it for Final Cut Pro 5.1.4
I have had the keyboard since December 2006 with no issue. As of Wednesday, when I open FCP my play head starts moving on the timeline. I click on the File menu and the screen starts selecting the reset of the menus rapidly, (i.e. File, Edit, View, etc). I only way I gain some control is when I hold the mouse button.

I have tried using different mice and trashing my FCP preferences. Only when I change back to the original apple keyboard does the FCP works properly.

Also when I have FCP open and it’s acting weird I try using other programs such as the Search menu for the Mac itself and It would not type some of my letters or let me highlight a word.

I contacted apple but we both agree that it

Try unplugging and re-plugging in all your USB hardware while the machine is turned on. See if that resets the USB ports. And, if not…

Next, see if unpluuging your mouse has an impact on your keyboard, and then keep dinking around along these lines until everything is rejiggered and starts behaving nicely again.

Wish I had a more scientific method for you…

Have you tried plugging the mouse directly into the USB port on the computer… not into the keyboard?
