    Hi Guys
I know some of you have the Bella keyboard, and I’m finding that the jog/shuttle does not respond with the same degree of sensitivity as it does on my old Sony 910 controller…

Do you know if there is a way of adjusting the sensitivity levels on it?

For example when I turn the jog wheel it moves one frame at a time (at a rate of about 4 per sec) but does not change speed if I jog faster or slower, and if I spin the jog wheel fast it seems to count the number of frames I’ve jogged through and then set off stepping through them at an even pace, even though I stopped jogging a few secs ago!
Maybe I’m expecting too much from it, but I was brought up on linear editing and really love the precision of the mechanical jog wheel, and was hoping for the same degree of control from the Bella one…
Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks

If you are comparing a jog shuttle on a VTR to FCP then be prepared for disappointment. FCP doesn’t really jog. It only steps frame by frame at the rate you have noted.

All the jog /shuttle device is doing is to simulate the frame forward and back button on the keyboard, not true jog shuttle.

I found the same issue with the Contour Shuttle pro.

Exactly! I have the Bella keyboard and find my fingers seldom gravitate toward the jog/shuttle knob. Even my mouse wheel provides more accurate control over the jog feature.

    Thanks Guys,
    As I feared!
I have managed to use the JSM settings application to give some degree of control to the shuttle, but the jog is as you say, only single step with no speed change. It’s a shame cos it’s a great idea….
    cheers
