What is the best way to handle behaviors that extend beyond the end of the timeline like the two Fade In/Fade Out behaviors in this screen shot? When I added the behavior the layers were too long. I shortened the layers by selecting them and choosing “Split” from the Edit menu as this is the best way I know to shorten a layer that extends past the end of the timeline. The problem is that the behaviors didn’t shrink with the layers. Thanks for your help!

Move the playhead to where you want the behavior to end
    Select the behavior
    hit o

This sets the outpoint of the behavior (and any other object type) to where the playhead is.
You can also also use it via the Mark Out command found in the Mark menu.

You can also set the timing for any object in the Inspector via it’s Timing parameters in its Properties pane.
