Hi guys, so recently my Youtube Brand has been given a huge budget by the phone network 02. They’ve given us £600 ($995) and we’re looking at 1 to 2 lenses.

We’re shooting on a Canon 550D, most of what we shoot are mid-shots and head-shots (all video) and are usually just still camera. Generally speaking, we’re looking for gorgeous quality. We already have an 18-55m and a 50m prime.

Any recommendations or advice at all?

You could probably get a used 24-70 2.8 L for that.

So do you want still lenses or cinema lenses?

In the still lens area, you’re probably looking at snagging some used L-series lenses like Tero says. $1K doesn’t buy too much brand new when it comes to high-end glass. You could also check out some of Sigma’s recent lenses as they retail new for about $900 (cheaper than the Canon L-series counterpart) but are great for stills.

If you’re looking for cinema lenses I’d look at Rokinon lenses as you could probably get 2 cinema primes for about $1K. I have the Rokinon 14mm and 85mm and they are both really good lenses for the money.
