  • Beating the stage size limitation?

Guys, as I understand it, PI Se will only render the size of the image according to the actual physical “spread” of the stage.

When I set Project prefs to 1920 X 1440, the stage goes big, but I can’t see the white line borders, even when I pull the whole interface right the way out.. Does this mean that when I render, I will end up with a slightly smaller video image than the project is set for?

    Thanks.

Yes. That’s a limitation of SE.

Do you really have 1920 x 1440 of effects, or is that just your movie res? For instance, if you’re going to composite an explosion into a movie, it’s probably not going to take up the entire frame. Use the full-frame to setup the explosion (work zoomed out), but then for the final render use a smaller stage size with no movie — just the explosion. Then composite your explosion onto your footage with your editing/compositing application.

Oh, Jeez, I never thought of that! Talk about thinking “outside the square”!

    Thanks, Alan.
