    Hi
    I followed a tutorial where a laser beam writing on a wall. The plugin is BCC laserbeam.it has an option to use The comp light. Then when moving the light futher behind the camera it gives this nice sence of depth.
    How can i accomplish this with the native beam effect??

    I have tried to link the end point to light and camera parameters but no luck here. The beam is not a 3d effec. But i figure there must be a way to pull this of

    I think the best you could do would be to set the start point of the beam to the light’s position projected onto the comp view:

    thisComp.layer(“Light 1”).toComp([0,0,0]);

    You’d probably want a large Starting Thickness, maybe tied in some way to the light’s z position.
