beach ball of death edit to tape or/and log and capt
I am running show leopard 10.6.4
Mac pro 8 gbs memory and 2 x quad cores (intels)Aja kona 3 version 8 (have tried 7.1 and 7.5)
Final cut version 6.06The problem I keep getting is related to edit to tape window and log and capture window. So I am thinking it has to do with aja kona card.
When I open the edit to tape window it might freeze up with the beach ball of death. Or it might open the edit to tape window and I copy and past time code in the input or output and then the beach ball might pop up. (seems to happen randomly) I might have edit to tape open and then switch easy set ups, Then the beach ball might pop up. I even had the beach ball pop up when I switched the out going tone from -12 to -18.
Log and capture window seems to be just a flakey. Might freeze on capture, Might freeze on marking input or out put.
I have done everything from un-installing FC, changing all different kona versions. Deleting FC prefs and other files(tips of websites).
Everything seemed to work good in tiger, But ever since I got snow leopard (clean install) I have had nothing but issues.I am sending a copy of this to apple, but guys at work think it’s a kona issue.

Typically for me I’ll get the beach ball for 10 seconds or anytime I re-enable the L&C window or ETT, then it comes back normal. I’m guessing your doesn’t come back?
Call AJA and ask to speak to tech support. They will help you.

nope, Just beach balls forever.
AJA asked me to try this VTR Exchange program, I will give it a shot, But I would think someone needs to figure out where this bug is, because Aja and FC should be able to work together.

Does anyone else have any solutions?
The VTR xchange is not going to work for me. The edit to tape feature is not productive enough for my means. I have media everywhere and its not all qt cut to time.
Big projects, inserting small patches over other video, or capturing whole tapes,
