Be my hero… H.264 compression question!
I need to know how to compress HDV video (and regular SD) in order to create an HD DVD in DVD Studio Pro. I am going to play the video-ts file that is created from my mac’s DVDplayer – I’m not actually going to burn a disc (just build one). However, I just don’t get how to correctly compress it. I’ve only used h.264 to make videos for my ipod. So how can this be the same method to make an HD DVD? ipod v.s. HD DVD are totally different. It’s so confusing to me!
So what I’m looking for are compression recipe’s for very high quality h.264. And where do I do this from, compressor or Final Cut? I’ve messed around a little bit w/the generic settings in compressor but it was saying 59 hrs. to compress a 20 minute HDV movie. very weird. I’m using a dual 2gb G5 w/the latest version of all the FCP studio products.
Thanks in advance for any advice!! 🙂
