Is BCC7 supposed to be multithreaded in Vegas? I get only a single cpu running and thus very slow rendering. Is there a setting somewhere I’m missing?

On my QuadCore I’ve gotten all 4 cores running at about 57%. This is with one empty event that contains an animated BCC7 Extruded Text object so all I have in my test project is one BCC7 event. This appears to say that BCC is multi-threaded. It also takes advantage of your graphics card’s GPU.

I don’t get it then. I have an i7 920 quad core and nvidia gts250. I get multicore performance on other things in vegas. My test is also 3d extruded text.

what video card do you have?

[Martin Rockwell] “what video card do you have?”

I have an nVidia Quadro 4000 but I don’t think the video card should matter.

Do you only see activity on one CPU? or are all 4 running at 25% (which would also indicate single threading).

Here is what my CPU’s are doing during a render:

Here is the scene I am rendering:

I get maybe 20% total CPU usage, why I’m asking. Would you email me your project file so I can use the identical test? bastinado at e-z dot net.

    thanks,
