    Hi Enzo,

BCC 5 and RED 4 integrate quite well with Adobe AE and Premiere Pro CS4 so you should have no compatibility issues if you upgrade to the latest versions of each of these products.

Seeing as you already own previous versions you are eligible for upgrade pricing. To purchase, you can either serve yourself using our on-line store, or you can contact someone from our internal sales staff who will assist you in the process and provide you with immediate licensing or you can go through your favorite reseller.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

BCC 5.0.1 forget to install “c:\Windows\BorisFX BCC5.inf” (Windows Vista permission issue…or other) and this hang PR & AE at startup.

    Workaround:
    – Create empty “C:\Windows\BorisFX BCC5.inf”.
    – Add Windows Permission “Everyone” and set “Full Control”
    – Start AE and apply some OpenGL filter.
    – From filter “Options”: TEST and ACTIVATE OpenGL.
    – “BorisFX BCC5.inf” become filled (see next 3 row).

    3 1
    4 536870912
    5 3

    (Note: 536870912 = 512 MB Video RAM).

    Hi.

Thanks! Thanksthanksthanksthanksthanks a lot Enzo! 😀
I was wondering why Premiere crashed on the “Loading Windows Media” and I set up the permissions and now it works.

    Great job!

    Hi,

I have the same problem. I tried the fix suggested here. AE opens but Premiere Pro still hangs on “Loading Windows Media”. Boris FX support hasn’t been any help either.

I’m not sure if I completed the fix suggested here. I created the WindowsBorisFX BCC5.inf in C: and set the security. When I go into AE and apply a Boris OpenGL filter, then check the Enable OpenGL checkbox in the dialog with the Test Button after running the test I don’t see a BorisFX BCC5.inf file anywhere and the WindowsBorisFX BCC5.inf file is still empty.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jeron

    Hi,
The right file location is C:\Windows\BorisFX BCC5.ini
    Enzo.

Hmmm, I still can’t get Boris 5 to work at all with CS4. Boris support hasn’t given me any help either.

I’m not seeing any “slashes” in your explanation there Enzo.

Are you saying there should be a file called, “BorisFX BCC5.ini” in a folder called “Windows” off of the root of drive C:? Or in other words a file called “BorisFX BCC5.ini” inside the folder in which I installed Vista 64?

If I pay for the upgrade to Boris 6 will the install work on Vista 64? There isn’t any new features or filters worth the $300, but I’m getting to the point where I’ve wasted more than $300 of my time trying to get Boris 5 to work.

Has anyone bought BCC 6 and got it running just by running the install exe that comes with it?
