BCC 4.1 installation woes — mac pro AE CS3
Posted by Henry Gretzinger on August 31, 2007 at 7:49 pmI posted in the Boris forum as well, but I thought I would post here too.
I’m having problems with the BCC 4.1 patch for CS3…has anyone successfully installed this? They won’t show up in AE CS3 effects menu.

August 31, 2007 at 8:31 pmtry runn cs3 under rosetta… select the ae application, choose file>get info.. and there is a check box for ‘open using rosetta’
i think that bcc is not a universal binary yet. an until then you can’t use cs3 as intel native and use powerpc effects, you must run cs3 as a powerpc app with rosetta.

August 31, 2007 at 8:37 pmBoris Continuum 5 is certainly compatible with Mac and Intel.
If you are installing 4 then the plug-in will not show up because it is emphatically NOT compatible with the Intel native platform.

August 31, 2007 at 8:47 pmthanks craig,
i was just trying to find the post from earlier this week where the poster was having problems with various effect not showing up in cs3.. i remembered that bcc was one of them, but someone did respond that upgrading to bcc 5.0 would fix it…

September 2, 2007 at 6:09 amI have been getting the black “X” with BCC 5 EFX in CS3.
How do I uninstall BCC so I can do a complete reinstall? I ask because I believe the problem might be related to the BCC 5 install with AE 7, before I owned/installed CS3.

September 5, 2007 at 3:17 pmI ran AE CS3 under Rosetta but it is SOOOOOO slow (think molasses-laden snail). I just got a free upgrade to BCC 5.0.1, which runs in CS3 with no problems (natively, not with Rosetta).
