Hi, I’m editing a doco i shot recently in Fiji, and am teaching myself Final Cut whilst editing with it and have come across a problem, and i don’t know what i could be doing wrong or how i could fix it… When i batch record, i log the clips i want to record, i select them and ONLY them in the bins, and click ‘batch’. A window then pops up and says that media associated with these clips has been found do i want to get them as well? if i either press continue without adding them, or to add them, it still picks up extra clips, called ‘unknown’ one of them which is 45 minutes in duration , and tries to pick it up from the tape. It tries, fails, tries again…. and is very very annoying. Can anyone help?? Puhlease??

Have u recorded some clips b/4 you logged and tried batch capture? It sounds like u have clips on the hard drive already. Try “reconnect media” and search your hard drive(s) first to reconnect your media. Then what’s left – choose batch capture to load from tape.
I’ll bet the footage from Fiji looks great…
