Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy batching 16:9?

  • Posted by Maria Beck on July 15, 2005 at 11:28 am

I have material on miniDV, filmed with 16:9 in the camera (Sony pd150).
When I batch the clips (DV PAL 48Khz) they won’t open up as 16:9 – even though I KNOW this has been the case before when I worked at another computer, but still the same version of FCP = 5.

Now I have to re-format the clips by going to Item Properties/Format and ticking the Anamorphic option, to make them open in 16:9 format. Before this happened automatically!!! Is there any setting that I should know about?

The irritating thing is that I now have to render every single clip when moving them to the Sequence timeline, which takes ages!

I have also tried to batch them with DV PAL 48Khz Anamorphic 16:9, but it doesn’t change anything.

How can I batch my material so that they opens up as 16:9 without having to change their format in Item properites?
OR: How can I change format on all clips without having to render every single clip individually when they’re on the timeline?

Oh, I really hope you can help! The project is BIG and Im stressing myself out….

    Best regards, Maria B.

    Hi Maria,

double check your capture preset, make sure the anamorphic box is checked – you’ll probably need to create a duplicate if it needs changing.

Alternatively, put your bin into column view, select all clips and then in the anamorphic column right/ctrl click and select yes/no (not at my machine right now so I’m not 100% on whther it’s yes no or something else – but it will be pretty obvious).

Make sure your timeline’s set to anamorphic as well.

    Good luck,
    Rob
