Is it possible with Production Assistant to use the region markers so that when you render the timeline you can batch render and keep individual files on the timeline individual – like using script/batch render in vegas
    AND
simultaneously convert the individual files to multiple format types at the same time???

I’m not sure what you are trying to do. Placing multiple files on the timeline and then placing regions around them and rendering regions as separate files would yield exactly the same results as rendering the files individually to being with so what’s the point?

No, Production Assistant doesn’t render regions. It is a batch file processor. Ultimate S Pro can render regions but it does not batch process files.

Can you explain what you are starting with and what you want to edit with?

I have 7 1/2 Hour Programs that wanted to render out in regions so that they stay 7 separate programs. But I need to render them each as MP4 (for storage) WMV for streaming video and MP3 for audio.
I wanted to be able to batch this all together leave it and come back tomorrow with 21 new files.

Just looking to kill as many birds with one stone as possible.

    hope that make sense now

I still down’t understand why you need the regions. Do you need both the entire 3.5 hrs rendered as one file and 7 separate 1/2 hr files?

Going by what you described, you would load the video files into Production Assistant and tell PA to process them individually and to render each of them to the three different formats (MP4, WMV, & MP3). It can do all of that while your sleeping and in the morning you’ll have 21 files.

I just don’t see where the regions are needed and why you would place them all on the timeline at the same time. Maybe I’m still missing something.

I only know how to batch render (unrelated files) at the same time by placing them all on the time line at the same time, each in its own region so it does not come out as one long file with black in between the clips/programs.
These 30 min teaching programs are for broadcast, Streaming Video, Streaming audio and then a storage master.
I didn’t want to have to do one program at a time in the three formats. I want to do 7-8 different shows at a time in the three different formats just so I don’t have to sit and do them one at a time.
I have gotten backed up and need to render a lot and am trying to figure and automated way.

The MultiRender function of Veggie Toolkit ($80 U.S.) may be what you’re looking for.
There’s a fully functional 15 day trial to see if you like it or not.

Mike that looks like it will do what I need, just didn’t know if production assistant that I already own would do this. I will try the demo – if it works – the price works
    Thank You

That’s why I asked you WHAT you wanted to do instead of HOW to wanted to do it. You don’t need to use regions with Production Assistant.

I want to do 7-8 different shows at a time in the three different formats just so I don’t have to sit and do them one at a time.

This is *exactly* what Production Assistant does. You might want to watch the QuickStart Video from the Sony Production Assistant Tutorials on the Sony web site.

Production Assistant will allow you to load any number of files and batch process them individually, optionally adding processing like network bugs, widescreen converters, film looks, overlays, etc. and then render them to multiple formats. It does all of this automatically without any intervention from you.

In the QuickStart Video I take you through the exact workflow that you want to perform step-by-step. Please watch it and see. Then come back with any questions.
