  • Batch render problems and different FPS on rendered videos

Using Vegas 17, build 284. I’m transferring some VHS tapes to MP4. I start out dumping the video to Type 2 DV-AVI using pass through on a DV camera. Drop the videos on the timeline, trim, and export. There are no real issues when exporting one at a time. My 2 main choices for SD MP4 are the MainConcept or Sony codecs. With MainConcept I made a preset and when I render I choose the “stretch to fill output” option so there is not letterboxing added. Works great. Results are perfect. My only complaint is with CBR I can’t make it a custom number. It goes from 4mbps to 10mbps in the drop down. Is there a way I can edit this?

So here’s the issue. If I want to batch render the files it will letterbox them and add black bars t the sides. I’m using the same preset.

So I tried using the Sony AVC setting. The quality is the same and if I try to batch render with it there is no letterboxing. For some reason using this even though I choose 30fps for my output it changes it to 60fps, and I choose 8mbps CBR but the bitrate is around 7.6. Why is it not rendering with the settings I choose?
