Batch Processing error message
Posted by Robert Mcgunnigle on January 15, 2009 at 7:29 pmWhenever I batch process a folder of images, I keep getting a message that tells me a certain parameter in a given action is “currently not available”. Where am I going wrong?

January 16, 2009 at 10:33 pmI believe that is when part of your action can’t be done. If you action works on one image and noth another, figure out what’s different between the 2 images. Like, if you select a path in you action, it might not be able to on another image if the path has a different name. (that one happened to me before)

February 16, 2009 at 11:33 amHi
i am getting exactly the same error.
Last time i used photoshop everything was fine. and then all of a sudden none of my custom actions work with a batch process. a message keeps coming up saying
“the command “image size” is not currently available”
If i click continue it pops right back up saying the same but for the next process and again and again with every process in my action.
It does this on any photo and with any custom action i have saved
Interestingly if i just open the photo and click play on the action without going through the batch process… it works fine.. so its nothing wrong with my actual action.
Has there been a bug introduced with a live update along the way?
Its very very annoying as i regularly batch process 100s of photos for the web and now im having to do them 1 by 1!!
thanks in advance for any help.
how can i roll back an update in photoshop??

March 26, 2009 at 5:42 pmI had the same problem.
It is fixed by including the “Open file” in your script or un-ticking the “Override Open commands” in the batch dialog.
Apparently and obviously, PS cannot do much unless a file is open 😉
