  • Batch increase amplitude valleys in Audition?

Posted by Douglas Mccullough on April 20, 2008 at 5:26 pm

I have several 30-minute wav files in which the speaker’s voice rhythmically rises and falls from 0 to -24. At 0 the volume is adequate, but at -24 barely audible.

I could go through each file and manually increase the amplitude of each of these -24 valleys, but that really would be time consuming.

Is there an “easy” method in Audition 3.0 to select these -24 decibel valleys and “batch” increase them to an acceptable amplitude?

    Thanks,
    Douglas

Try hard limiting. Set your peak level ( 0 if that works) and an average gain maybe 12db. That will boost everything 12db until it hits 0db. You may want to set the max at -1 to give yourself a little “head room.”
