  • Batch Export Shortening Clips…?

    Hello,

I recently needed to change some clips from 1080p 23.98 to NTSC 29.97 and since FCP’s scaling in the timeline is garbage (I can’t believe FCP cannot scale a clip down without degrading the image so much, ridiculous), I had to export each clip. Using the Batch Export of a media managed sequence did a great job with the scaling and frame rate conversion, however, it shortened the duration of my clips.

Has anyone else had this problem? Again this was 1080p 23.98 going to Kona 3 NTSC 29.97. Conversion and scaling looked great, but it just cut off early on all the clips. Not the same duration on each clip either. Some 3 seconds early, other 7 or 8 seconds. All random.

Any suggestions? I find that Batch Export does a better conversion and easier than Compressor most of the time for issues such as this.

    Dual 3.0 8 core MacPro
    4 gigs RAM

    Thanks so much.
