Batch Export from Avid
Posted by Gene Michael patrick on April 10, 2007 at 10:55 pmHi all,
We are running MC 2.6 on Tiger 10.4 and I am wondering if anyone knows if you can batch export multiple sequences from the bins. I’ve looked and do not see an option for batch export. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your help.

April 11, 2007 at 10:45 amNot to my knowledge, but can’t you make a macro to do so?
If this comes up very often, I could alter my macro appl. to wait for renders to be done before the next export.
Drop me a line offlist if you likeBouke

April 11, 2007 at 11:48 amYou used to be able to batch export by draging and dropping. Try setting your project window to “Settings” select the saved export setting that you want to use, signified by the check mark in front of it. Go to your bin where the Sequences are located, highlite all that you want to export, drag them to your desktop/finder and drop them on the drive/folder you want to export them to, go have a smoke and a cup of coffee. You may have to resize your Avid app to get to the desktop before you start.

April 11, 2007 at 4:37 pmHave you tried selecting all your sequences (they must all be in the same bin) and then selecting File->Export? This has always done the trick for me.

July 15, 2009 at 8:33 amHi Wes,
Is it also possible to mark in and out points through out your time line and drag and do a “fast grab”(?) and drop it in an export bin? I’m currently working on an animation project and I’m trying find a way to coordinate this with the editor in a another city for getting these shots out that we need for reference with out me having to go back and break up his edits from the reference quicktime film he sends us.
Thanks,

July 15, 2009 at 1:46 pmYes. You can create subsequences from your master sequence. Mark and In and Out on the section you want, activate the tracks you want, and Alt or Cmd Drag from the Record monitor to a bin.
To make it faster, map “subclip” to your keyboard and hit that with your timeline active. It will make a subclip (or in this case subsequence) that contains only what’s in between your In and Out marks and with only the active tracks.
