Batch edit text layer in image files
Does anyone know of any way to batch edit the text layers in a still image?
Little background.
I have 500+ scenes that need scene number labels.
Right now I have to go into each still image and manually edit the scene number.
If I have 500+ still images with the text label “showname_shownumber_scenenumber”, (cartoon_101_005).
So “cartoon_101_005” becomes “cartoon_101_006″ then” cartoon_101_007″ then “cartoon_101_008” and so on.
Iv’e tried looking for a script or a plugin that would do this with no luck.
Hopes are high that there is a faster way to batch edit multiple text in still images. -

I’ve also been searching for a plugin that would take the scene file name and use that in a text layer.
Or an “effect” that reads the clip name? -
I think I would look at going about it differently.
I’d do a batch file rename first, according to the conventions you describe. (XNView will do this and it’s free.)
Then I’d look at exporting them with the filename supered.
Worth a look, anyway.

Sorry, I think I’ve done a poor job of explaining.
All the files living on my drive are the proper names. That’s good to go.
What I want to do is batch edit the Text Layer in the Still Image.
Or have the Text Layer inside the Still Image use the a source file name.
Does this make sense?

Yes. XNView will do this in the Batch Processing tool. You can define what text you want in the file, including filenames, numbering, etc.
I don’t think keeping it in its own layer is an option, though you could set up a subdirectory for the files with supered names.
Grab yourself a copy and experiment. The program is free. (Amazing that it can do all the things it does and costs nothing.)

XNView can’t edit the text inside a premiere file.
