  • Batch converting M2T files to Mov to import into FCP version7

Posted by Sheree Day on January 14, 2012 at 7:45 am

    Hi

I have a large batch of M2T files that need to be converted to Mov files so I can import them into FCP version 7 for editing.

I have tried Streamclip but no batch conversion and I have to drop the quality to get anything decent.

Does anyone know of a good converter – happy to pay for one. I’ve surfed the net but can’t seem to find a good one or one that does batches. Prefer a converter for Mac.

    Thanks.

    Hi

They originally were TOD files (JVC camera that records in TOD and MOI format). I had to change the TOD extension only to M2T so I could edit the footage in a program I had on a PC.

I now have a Mac and need to convert all those M2T files which are on an external drive.

Any ideas on a good converter to change the M2T to Mov on a Mac?

    Thanks

Why don’t you use the Long&Transfer function in FC?

Streamclip does have a batch option; under List in the toolbar.

Thank you so much for telling me how to do the batch list in streamclip. That will save me heaps of time with future projects.

Log and transfer into FCP7 doesn’t work with either M2T or TOD files.

[Sheree Day] “Log and transfer into FCP7 doesn’t work with either M2T or TOD files.

Sure it works, but you ned the original file structure.
    Try ClipWrap.

Not sure what you mean by “original file structure”.

I have the M2T files (extension was originally TOD and I just changed it to M2T as I was using another program previously). I copied a couple of M2T files I had saved to an external drive, to the Mac…but couldn’t get it into FCP7 with log & transfer – what am I doing wrong?

The original file structure is all the files and folders that the camera creates in the memory card when you record.
