I have a bunch of clips I want to convert to a format that plays on my mobile device(Archos AV500) so I can show them when out and about. This is an older device and gives the following error when attempting to play incompatible formats:
    —–
    Cannot play video!
Only WMV9 “Simple Profile” is supported!
    —–

    So I have two questions,
    1. Can anyone explain how to render video as WMV9 Simple Profile with Vegas?
    &
    2. Can you batch render a folder of videos and output as individual files? If so, how?

I did find two references to “Simple Profile” in Wikipedia:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Media_Video
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4_Part_2#Simple_Profile_.28SP.29

However, I am having trouble understanding it and how it applies to rendering in Vegas.

I know I’ve played formats other than WMV on this device, or at least I think. I suppose it is possible to use a WMV codec and still wrap it with the .avi file type. But I think some of them have been DivX, so maybe there is an alternative. All of the files on there currently that play are .avi, but it doesn’t say in the file properties which codec they use!?!?!

Is there a DivX codec built in or that I can add to Vegas to try?

    Thanks
