I need to change over 50 comps settings from 640×480 to 720×486. Is there a way to BATCH CHANGE COMPOSITION SETTINGS so I don’t have to do this one by one?
    TIA!

crgreen has a script that will change selected comps’ settings… he does have a note that some of his scripts won’t work in cs3, hopefully this one will, it sounds like it will do exactly what you need.

[Dave LaRonde] “Hmmmm…. I wonder if it can also fix layer sizes, pixel aspect ratios, etc. That would be one smart script!”

yeah, i doubt it will fix the layer sizes, but it sounded like it modified the comp settings, so pixel aspect should be included. i figured there was a plan for the potential layer size issue (but there i go assuming again).

one other potential problem with the script is it is probably destructive.. meaning it actually changes those comp settings, not changes the settings on copies of the comps. so if things go wrong, it may be difficult to go back. so i would duplicate the project file (or at least the comps to be changed).

draggin the comp to a new comp with different settings is a good way to do it, if you’re just rendering these out. if they contain interlaced footage, i don’t think i would even scale them up, just lose 3 scan lines off the top and bottom.

if they are in need of updating, and they will need to be updated later, then changing comp settings may be better.

The script works perfect for what I had in mind!
    Thanks for the tip Kevin!
