    hi,

in FCP 5, we’re editing footage using offline compression for batch capturing to online later. part of the edit is freezing video and jump cutting stills from that video, using the freeze frame command. we’re having trouble recapturing these freeze frames. is this even possible in FCP or is there a method of batch capturing freeze frames? thanks.

Freeze frames have always been a problem with the Media Manager. I once had to have a client email me a couple of dozen freeze frames for a project he brought me.

What I’d recommend for your online is to make a list of your freezes & recapture each as a single frame of video that you can insert manually. Yes it’s a pain, but that’s kind of what onlining is about.
