  • Batch Capture WARNING?

I’m really confused why I’m getting this warning. I’ve never got it in the past until I upgraded to 5.1

This warning makes no sense! When I logged these clips, I knew they were 29.97. Now, it’s telling me they’re non-dropframe?

Well, thinking that it would be an easy fix, I went to change the TC Rate, but look!

so, I guess it had no choice but to make it non-Dropframe….
or maybe I’m missing something…. What’s going on here?

DF/NDF has nothing to do with video rate. It’s 29.97 regardless. It’s just a convention of counting. Just capture with fat handles and you’ll be fine.

Let me guess, you are doing a dv firewire capture? Was your footage shot drop or non drop? Did you use the Drop or non drop firewire easy setup? This bug has come up a bunch.

Also, you don’t want to change the tc rate, you want to change the easy setup to select either drop or non drop tc if coming in over firewire. Be sure to choose the right one as once you capture, all your timecodes can turn to 00:00:00:00. It’s then, really really fun to try and relog. Make a backup of your correctly logged project before capturing.
