Batch capture trouble in Final Cut
Very frustrated with new system, please help!!! I have a Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 with Final Cut 6.0.2. Trying to capture DVCPRo SD DV footage witha AJ-D450 deck thru blackmagic design multibridge pro. Also have Qube X Rorke Data drives.
FC capture settings are Blackmagic NTSC 29.97 and (capture/input) Blackmagic NTSC 8 bit.
I can see the footage and even capture it… sometimes. When I make a batch list, FC spiratically stops and says “Tape trouble. Check VTR. Do not attempt to eject tape or use transport without checking VTR first.”
I click O.K. three times and the Insert Reel window comes up. Says, ” End of tape reached, last clip was not captured.”
1. I’ve check the tape and deck and they’re fine. It still batch captures like a champ with my seven year old DPS Velocity System. And there are no timecode breaks on tape.
2. Tape is no where near the end
3. It likes short clips, obviously less chance of it going wrong… problem is I have a lot of long clips.
My salesperson suggested I get a Horita NTSC TEst Signal Generator. That hasn’t helped at all.
Has anyone ever encountered this? Is it possible my DVCPro deck interface is too old for this new FC? Is the Signal Generator even necessary? If so, what’s your suggestion on how to connect it.
ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks in advance,
