  • Batch Capture skips first clip in the Bin, then rewinds to capture it last?

Whenever I attempt to Batch Capture with firewire, the first file in the bin (ie. the first on the tape’s sequence too) is skipped and the rest of the clips are captured in sequence, once everything is captured, the tape rewinds to the first logged clip and captures it last. To rewind the tape completely from end to beginning a second time is completely unnecessary, why isn’t it capturing it when it first rewinds, ie. as the first clip?

As a workaround I’m having to capture the first clip individually, then highlight the remaining clips in the bin and do a batch capture.

    Any ideas?

At what TimeCode does your first clip start? Sometimes the problem is, that there’s not enough pre-roll time for FCP to rewind before the first clip starts. This is why when recording on MiniDV tapes, you should always have the first 10 sec or so blank recorded (or C Bars) – so you create enough pre-roll space on the tape.
