so i’ve added some clips to a cut which are currently offline, I go to batch capture and wierd stuff is happening. A clip for example with a duration of 10 seconds 18 frames, requires 27 minutes 18 seconds and 5 frames of capture! the only thing i can think of is that somewhere in the computers dumb head it is trying to capture all of the original source rushes. what can i do about this i need to capture about twenty minutes of clips but the computer wants to capture about 20 hours worth. The project originally came from an avid and was transfered via auto duck, but the last time i batch captured- for the whole previous cut the capture was normal (plus handles) now i’ve added some more clips and it is going nuts. help please.

It sounds like your process to get to the batch session was not correct.
Or FCP is just doing something weird. Either is possible.
Below is the best link for doing uprez sessions and batches of sequences.
I have never had a problem when using these instructions.
Look them over. Maybe you forgot one of the steps.
