  • Batch capture iso clips from a line cut

Posted by Mike Saint-amand on October 1, 2006 at 10:30 pm

We have a project that involves a linecut and 4 iso cameras. The line cut has been pulled in, but we need to repull one of the iso reels (the camera was microwaved in for the line cut). The line cut (All 14 hours) has already been cut down to an hour. What is the best way to be able to to repull a clip or clips. currently FCP wants to repull and write over the exisiting file. Anyone have any suggestions, shy of media managing each clip into its own file or hand logging each clip.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Are you trying to replace clips in the line cut? If the timecode matches you should be able to do this pretty easily… the source timecode of the line cut which was cut down in the sequence can be seen in the clip overlays in the canvas… make a list from that and replace the shots with the same timecode from the camera’s material you need to replace.

Thanks for the reply. Currently that is how we are replacing the clips, but it’s rather time comsuming to do it this way. On our M100 system, we can “cut” out the shot, reassign it a new reel name and repull them much faster since we can selected those clips and do a batch capture. I’m looking to do the same in FCP

    Thanks
